2019年6月1日，四川省凉山彝族自治州越西县普雄镇，乘客从5633次绿皮列车上下来，随身携带的“行李”是一袋袋土鸭。开行在四川大凉山腹地的5633/4次列车是成昆铁路上普雄至攀枝花间运行的惠民扶贫公益性“慢火车”。这趟列车不但运力大、票价低，还允许乘客携带赶集交易的活物牲畜，成为当地百姓探亲访友、务工赶集的首选。

2020年4月16日，贵州省遵义市桐梓县的桐梓火车站，列车员帮助到站菜农下车。往返于贵州省遵义市与重庆市的5629/30次普速列车，全程312千米，行驶10多个小时，最高票价23.5元，区间内最低票价2元。这趟穿行于山区的“绿皮火车”，沿线25个站连通很多村寨，目前仍是沿线民众赶集买卖、走亲访友、上学的重要交通工具。
