2018年7月23日，甘肃省庆阳市正宁县榆林子镇小寺头村，70多岁的村民任占印接纯净水喝。当地政府政策扶贫，将自来水直接接入村民家中并进行过滤，“干旱村”终于足不出户喝上了纯净水。

2020年6月17日，新疆维吾尔自治区喀什地区伽师县江巴孜乡尤库日尕勒村，村民阿布拉·沙吾提（左二）用清澈甘甜的自来水烧茶招待邻居。伽师县城乡饮水安全工程总投资17.49亿元，是国内至今单体投资金额最大的饮水安全工程，惠及全县1.53万贫困人口。至此，新疆所有贫困人口彻底告别苦咸水，全面实现饮水安全目标。
