2012年6月21日，河北省石家庄市平山县戎冠秀小学，学生在教室里上课。2011年，石家庄市启动“山区教育扶贫工程”，涉及平山、赞皇等6个山区县45个乡镇数万名孩子，覆盖贫困人口60万。受惠于该工程，戎冠秀小学新建学生宿舍楼一栋，完全满足了山区学生住宿的问题，孩子们不用每天往返十几里、甚至几十里山路上学。

Instead of commuting daily on mountainous roads, the students now live in a newly-built dormitory under a poverty alleviation project launched in 2011 to benefits tens of thousands of children in 45 towns of six counties.

2013年12月31日，河南省平顶山市宝丰县观音堂林站三间房村小学，山区孩子戴着爱心手套和围巾在上课。当日，宝丰县妇联在该小学开展关爱贫困山区儿童捐赠活动，为195名山区儿童送去了棉手套、围巾等爱心物品，让山区孩子温暖过冬。
